The Ecologist is looking for a freelance Contributing Editor (News & News Features) to work on one of the world’s leading environmental digital platforms.

The applicant needs to be an experienced and trained news journalist who can demonstrate an active interest in and experience of environmental news reporting. The role will require writing, editing, and Content Management System skills.

This role is offered, initially, as a six month, freelance contract, the terms and conditions of which will be reviewed at the end of this period. The successful applicant will work remotely from a home, using their own computer and equipment.

This is a role for a professional, self-motivated and dedicated journalist who shares the ethos and values of the Resurgence Trust. www.resurgence.org

NCTJ training or equivalent and experience working on a major print title/digital is essential.

This contract is expected to commence 5 June 2017.

Interviews will be held at the Resurgence Trust offices in Hartland, North Devon during the week beginning 15 May

Training will be provided in Hartland.

Hours: approximately 24 hours per week
