Stylist, Shopping Editor
Stylist is looking for an energetic and enthusiastic Shopping Editor to join their fashion team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for producing shopping pages; pitching and writing clever news stories; and representing Stylist at press days and industry events.
While this is a junior editor position, it’s a multi-faceted role and your remit will go beyond compiling simple product pages led by catwalk trends.
The successful candidate will be able to spin clever feature ideas around trends you’ve seen on the street and you will know the high street and catwalk inside out (spotting the standout pieces of the season before they hit the stores and securing exclusives on them for Stylist) as well as being able to write news stories to tight deadlines.
It goes without saying that you already have strong relationships with PRs and a never-ending stream of ideas for how we can execute your shopping vision as well as a genuine obsession with shopping.
You’ll currently be in the early stages of your career at a national title, used to working at a fast pace, with the drive and ambition to move up the career ladder to create your own pages, working closely with Stylist’s Fashion Director.
- Pitch three shopping story ideas, of 4 pages each, for issues in May, June and July. With each idea, include head and sell ideas and explain your concept for each story, including a sketch of the page layout.
- Pitch three Scoop news stories for May issues – with head, sell and any relevant visuals – explaining why they are right for Stylist.
- Describe what you think the Stylist reader wants from our shopping pages in 300 words.
