Full Time

We currently have the opportunity for (Senior) Researcher / Writers to join our Product Research team.

From exposing the issues facing consumers today to recommending the products people should consider or avoid, we do the hard work so consumers don't have to.

We have over 800,000 subscribers and want you to give our readers the unbiased information they need so they can choose the right products the first time.

What you'll be doing

You will research and write about products for both which.co.uk and Which? magazine.

We’re looking for someone who has enthusiasm for products big and small. We test over 1,400 products a year, anything from smartwatches to dishwashing liquid.

You’ll work alongside our scientists to design product tests around the things that consumers really care about - whether that means measuring how long washing-up liquid foam lasts or uncovering what kind of battery life you can really expect from your mobile phone.

You’ll project manage the testing of these products with our external test labs and will then use your exceptional writing skills to turn the test results into engaging features, product reviews, news stories and test lab articles.

You‘ll also get the chance to create and improve a range of related website content, such as written product reviews, videos, photo galleries, news stories, buying guides and blog posts. You’ll give consumers all the information they need to choose the right product, in an engaging and interesting way.

What we are looking for

  • You’ll need excellent writing skills and a talent for turning complex information into clear, accessible language that’s enjoyable to read. We’d love it if you have experience writing for a consumer audience.
  • You’ll need excellent research skills and an understanding of research principles, along with a good level of numeracy. Ideally you might have some experience in designing and carrying out research. You’ll need to be comfortable handling large data sets and have good Excel skills.
  • You’ll need excellent project-management skills to effectively juggle multiple projects and articles to tight deadlines.

What we’ll give you in return

Our rewards package is one of the best out there. You’ll get 28 days’ annual leave, an interest-free season ticket loan, life assurance and a generous pension scheme.

You’ll also get the chance to develop your career, with a big focus on your professional development. And you can work every day knowing that you’re playing your part in making consumers as powerful as the organisations they deal with.
