Working on the award winning ITV News website and associated digital platforms, you will be responsible for informing the growth of our digital reach and engagement


  • Inform and drive growth/engagement on all ITV News digital outlets
  • Help develop and implement a clear strategic content proposition for all platforms
  • Inform, support and innovate best publishing practices
  • Community relationship management, data mining and search engine optimisation
  • Strong digital news judgement – with a knowledge of what will play well on social media
  • Expert understanding and knowledge of social media, working across a wide variety of platforms
  • Knowledge, experience and love of news and current affairs
  • Build new audiences on new platforms with particular reference to news video
  • Ability to influence the newsroom on multiple tasks
  • Experience of innovating new content and understanding the value of social media and distribution strategies
  • Responsible for digital optimisation including use of data analytics, social media data and SEO
  • Knowledge sharing to wider newsroom with ability to confidently speak to and train colleagues
  • Visualise and present your ideas to newsroom
  • Network with other media companies to develop partnerships
  • Identify growth opportunities with new audiences
  • Responsible for audience development and innovating new opportunities
  • To be a champion of audience and analytics


  • Extensive experience of working with data providers such as Chartbeat, Parse:ly, Comscore, Newswhip, Sitecatalyst, Crowdtangle, third party data and any other sources of audience data.
  • Able to transform data into robust, creative and imaginative editorial ideas
  • Ability to work autonomously and under own initiative
  • A digital native who works to the highest editorial standards
  • Insatiable appetite for distinctive, quality and trustworthy content
  • Gravitas and experience to influence editorial instinct
  • Excellent knowledge of the differing value media platforms offer publishers
  • Ability to access, analyse, understand and communicate third party audience data, with a view to growing new audiences
  • Ability to shape and inform a strategic, data-led vision
  • Social media savvy with a natural awareness of new trends
  • Enthusiastic and self-motivated
  • Ability to bring energy to a team
  • An excellent understanding of the national and international news agenda and how to tell stories in a digitally native way
  • Knowledge of media law and Ofcom regulations
  • Experienced in working with journalist
  • An understanding of the 24 hour news cycle
  • Technical adaptability and flexibility
  • Experience in a national newsroom, some of which should be in a digital environment
  • First class story judgement with initiative to suggest coverage ideas and creative ways to cover stories
  • Scrupulous attention to detail and fact-checking
  • Ability to work at speed in a high-pressure environment, juggling multiple stories
  • Technical adaptability and flexibility
  • An understanding of digital audiences and how content is consumed differently on each digital platform
  • An understanding of 24-hour breaking news
  • Experience of working with content management systems and data providers
  • Good interpersonal skills with a positive attitude, with the ability to deal with colleagues across newsgathering, TV and other areas
