Mawsonia Publications, Features Editor - GCV
Mawsonia Ltd, a UK-based media company, currently runs three trade papers, Global University Venturing (GUV), Global Government Venturing (GGV) and Global Corporate Venturing (GCV), and a number of supplements and special reports.
The GCV Features Editor will be primarily responsible for the monthly GCV magazine and its regular supplements, such as World of Corporate Venturing, Rising Stars, Powerlist, and irregular ones as required.
Much of the copy and its editing will likely be done by the GCV Features Editor with freelance and team support in cooperation with editor-in-chief, James Mawson, the post’s line manager.
The position will also require close liaison with Robert Lavine, news editor of GCV, to help out on news if or as required (assume potentially one news story per day to help prepare material and understanding for sector features for example) and prepare weekly or topical editorials and analyses.
The position will also require close collaboration with the GGV and GUV editor, Thierry Heles, and working with Mawsonia’s head of production, Keith Baldock.
Covering for colleagues’ holidays and cooperation in a small editorial team is highly valued by the company.
The role of GCV Features Editor also requires public speaker and travelling on behalf of the company to its and third-parties’ events to journalistically cover and present at them.
The role is effectively the public face of GCV and requires excellent interpersonal and intellectual skills to engage with the audience and develop the insights that can help Mawsonia’s business and be covered in its titles.
The role requires excellent writing speed and clarity of content and good coordination between GCV and GUV and GGV and staff and outside sources.
