  • To lead the sub and art teams so that the hubbing process works efficiently and creatively with the ability to monitor, organize, and manage the flow of editorial content across all platforms including print, online, events, social media, applications, digital editions, and commercial initiatives 
  • To ensure the art and subs hubs have regular and constant workflow 
  • To plan ahead so that the magazines can pull ahead of schedule when necessary 
  • To ensure all deadlines are met, opportunities maximized across all platforms 
  • To oversee production of print product and all other products out of the brand  
  • To define a timetable/rota which accommodates new content projects where required 
  • To fulfil their chief sub responsibilities for their nominated title 
  • To be the chief liaison with the commercial team regarding workflow of commercial pages 


  • To ensure the smooth running of art and sub hubs 
  • To ensure adequate time is allowed for ‘hero’ features across the titles 
  • To manage and co-ordinate processing of all editorial content from creation to deadline  
  • To manage the production of supplements, existing brand extensions and new titles/publications 
  • To work with Senior Team heads to manage the staff rota to match workflow timeline and meet deadlines; manage the chain of command/responsibility for workflow. 
  • To liaise with Production to ensure smooth workflow across the print product and maintenance of monthly print production deadlines 
  • To co-ordinate the delivery of content from marketing/subscriptions/commercial teams whilst ensuring necessary approvals are sought and granted  
  • To ensure all marketing materials deadlines are met by editorial team 
  • To liaise with department Heads to make sure all the deadlines are met  
  • To constantly review the process to streamline and define the most efficient way of operating  
  • To have regular meetings with all HoD’s to ensure responsibility for workflow is adhered to 
  • To create and manage the development roadmaps for existing and new workflow tools
  • To liaise with Editorial Business Manager on all budgetary matters; i.e. yearly, monthly page, and project and freelancer budgets and paging 
  • To ensure full use of Censhare is made and the CMS to achieve optimum integration of print and online  
  • • To manage staff diary of who goes where and does what, and editorial attendance 
  • To ensure freelance cover where permitted is approved and booked at critical times.  
  • To liaise with other Workflow Directors to share best practice and quality freelance.  
  • To work with industry-standard toolsets to complete your work, as well as work within the proscribed processes of the structured workflow systems used to create editorial content. 
  • You will be required to undertake commercial editorial work as and when requested by the Company



  • Strong decision maker with print and online experience to back up workflow rota 
  • Demonstrable writing, editing and sub-editing experience at a senior level 
  • Able to motivate and encourage teams and solve problems quickly 
  • Creative person with a flair for practical solutions  
  • Digitally aware innovator with a logical mind who can work with those less logically minded 
  • Experience of producing high production values throughout a magazine and all promotions of high quality copy 
  • Meticulous and organized with strong time management skills
