Job Type
Full Time

Do you have what it takes to join one of the UK's most popular and successful spiritual titles?

If you are educated to degree level with a formal qualification in journalism, have previous editorial magazine experience, an interest in wellbeing and lifestyle and are able to think on your feet with a head full of feature ideas – then you could be just what we are looking for! With a strong eye for detail and an excellent grasp of grammar and the English language, you'll be able to meet and thrive on hitting tight deadlines and be very flexible to meet the demands of the job under pressure. Helping to produce 12 issues a year, organisation, keeping calm and multitasking are all your middle names!

You will need to be as at home subbing a spiritual contributer's column as you are writing a feature on holistic wellbeing and mindfulness from scratch. You'll also get the opportunity to work with our photographers on craft shoots, and liaise with our in-house design team on page layout to ensure the look of our magazine fits our USP.

Working in a small team with a can-do attitude and a skill for juggling multiple tasks under pressure, you will support the Editor and manage a junior member of staff, so management experience is needed for this role.

You will be able to provide support across all aspects of production, from commissioning features and briefing columnists, to discussing with the advertising manager how to seamlessly integrate products into a spiritual feature, all the while having the Soul & Spirit reader firmly at the forefront of your mind.

A whizz on social media, you'll also know just the right hook to appeal to our followers, and you will be as comfortable writing a snappy 140 character tweet as you would an engaging blog post on crystal healing! If writing engaging copy and making your mark on a national publication sounds like a challenge you're equipped for, we want to hear from you.

To apply, please submit a covering letter with two examples of previous work to Kate Nudds by completing the application form below.
