Full Time

A rare opportunity for a talented and enthusiastic deputy editor to join the automotive tech media division of UKi Media & Events, an independent and hugely successful international magazine publisher and exhibition organiser, based in Dorking, Surrey.

The successful candidate will become a key member of a growing editorial and content team, working across a range of industry-leading automotive engineering and future technology publications and websites.

This role is ideal for an up-and-coming deputy editor looking for a new challenge, or an assistant editor ready to take the next step up.

We offer rapid career development to the right candidate, and the opportunity to take ownership of the day-to-day running of titles within the team portfolio, as well as involvement in launching new publications and content formats.

There will be opportunities for international travel and a requirement to attend a wide range of industry and brand events.

Experience in commissioning content, flatplanning, writing features and news stories, preparing copy for subbing, working with the design team to ensure cutting-edge layouts, captioning and preparing pages for proofing, are all vital. Knowledge of CMS and reporting for online audiences will be beneficial.

Candidates must also be proficient in the use of InDesign, and be well organised and able to meet strict deadlines. A good knowledge of and passion for the automotive industry will be a key advantage.

Salary will be commensurate with ability and experience. A full UK driving licence and a passport are a must for this role.

The company, which employs more than 150 staff and publishes more than 100 magazines a year, has grown and been more successful every year since it was established 25 years ago, and there remains plenty of opportunity to progress as we continue to launch new and pioneering publications and exhibitions.
