Jo Malone London is recruiting for a Global Copy & Editorial Manager as a fixed term maternity cover.

Role description:

The guardian of the Jo Malone London voice. This role is pivotal in shaping and evolving how the brand communicates with its audience, ensuring story-telling is at the heart of everything we do. Crafting and editing copy to the highest standard whilst effectively managing the copy team and in-house processes.

The position will be responsible for:

  • Honing and implementing the brand’s tone of voice across all communication touch points (online, creative, marketing, PR, in-store and social), elevating and evolving when and where necessary to adapt to the ever-changing landscape
  • Approaching all copy requests from an editorial stance, crafting creative copy to support and drive consumer engagement, traffic, footfall and followers
  • Adapting copy to suit individual markets, ensuring cultural relevance for key global events and/or promotions
  • Developing innovative ideas, objectives and strategies for brand messaging
  • Day-to-day management of Global Copy Assistant Manager and Global Junior Copywriter
  • Editing of all in-house brand copy (online, creative, marketing, PR, in-store, social, etc.)
  • Regular review of copy processes to ensure all copy deadlines are met in a timely and efficient manner
  • Management of copy team documents (inc. the Copy Tracker)
  • Managing relationships and working collaboratively with key copy contacts within the business to guarantee the needs of each department are being met
  • Management of freelance writers
  • Supporting the Digital Editor with idea and copy creation for TTOTT when required
  • Attendance at company events and training courses where applicable


The ideal candidate will have:

  • An extensive background in Journalism and/or brand copy
  • Experience working for a British brand and/or publication
  • Proven management and editing experience
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment, delivering copy to meet deadlines and business demands
  • A creative eye and editorial approach to copy
  • A fastidious approach to spelling and grammar
  • Excellent people skills in order to maintain and build relationships within the business
