B2B Retail Title, Junior Editor / Deputy Editor
A monthly business publication aimed at the global retail sector is looking for a talented junior editor or a deputy editor ready to step up to a bigger role.
The new person will be responsible for generating story ideas for reports, features and interviews that analyse and comment on the emerging trends within this billion-dollar, international sector.
The ideal person for this position will have at least five years’ experience in an editorial role within a publishing environment; he/she will have a keen eye for news and a talent for writing analytical, authoritative and well-researched features.
They should also be well versed in working with InDesign for sub-editing purposes, be familiar with WordPress for web and have copious experience of using Twitter, LinkedIn and other social media.
They will be expected to drive the title’s coverage across print and digital avenues, including a regularly updated website.
The successful candidate will deputise for the editor in her absence and will take on such duties as line management and the co-ordination of a network of external freelancers when required.
The chosen candidate will be expected to represent the magazine at a range of industry events, such as exhibitions and conferences, and will be at home interacting with senior-level management at some of the world’s biggest brands, as well as fostering new contacts.
The position involves extensive international travel to some of the world’s most glamorous destinations and the new team member must be able to undertake such assignments at short notice. A calm demeanour, positive attitude and outgoing personality would also be appreciated.
