The Chelsea Magazine Company requires a talented editor for its award-winning travel title, BRITAIN – The Official Magazine.
BRITAIN is the official magazine of VisitBritain, the national tourism agency. The magazine has a large newsstand presence and subscriber base, particular in the US, and it was named best consumer holiday magazine at the British Travel Awards 2016.
About the Editor role:
The successful applicant will edit the print edition of the magazine, published six times per year, as well as two annual bookazines, the Britain Guide and the London Guide.
You will be in charge of a small editorial team comprising a deputy editor and an art editor. You will report to the magazine’s publisher and managing director.
Your responsibilities will include planning issues, commissioning content, writing features, subbing copy and liaising with the advertising team.
You will also be responsible for developing and producing content for the magazine’s website in conjunction with the deputy editor, as well as helping to update the various social media channels.
The ideal candidate will be either an existing editor looking to make his or her mark on a successful, long-established brand or an exceptional deputy editor ready to make the step up.
Knowledge of British history, culture, geography and tourism would be preferable, but all ambitious candidates with relevant journalism experience will be considered.
