Market Editor, OPIS – an IHS Markit Company
OPIS is seeking a home-based market editor to join a tight-knit team covering the European oil product market.
The new editor will play a role in the launch of a new European gasoline report, based on the OPIS450 methodology that is used to discover jet and diesel marine oil prices in Europe.
The role will also include covering jet, diesel and diesel marine oil markets.
Duties include being able to write market reports, assess oil prices, maintain spreadsheets, break news stories, and monitor and input the movements of oil-carrying ships for the OPIS Tanker Tracker.
Applicants must be able to demonstrate the skills to work independently and to build and maintain a contact book of trader and broker relationships.
OPIS publishes reports and assessments of oil prices every working day after the markets close.
Editors finish work in the early evening on days when they are responsible for publishing.
You’ll bring with you…
- Minimum 3-5 years of editorial experience, although other candidates with a background in oil markets will also be considered.
- Ideally, a background in oil price reporting, and understanding of European oil markets.
- A willingness to travel when required.
- Excellent spoken and written English.
- A higher degree or professional accreditation or outstanding relevant career experience
