A professional membership body is looking for a Deputy Editor to join their offices in central London. This is a great opportunity for a candidate with some good editing experience within online publishing. A background in business, legal or financial magazine would be ideal. Please note that this is for a permanent position.

Key duties:

  • Commission, edit, re-write and generate content to house style and agreed schedules
  • Research and conduct interviews, liaising with colleagues on content ideas
  • Manage and upload content to magazine’s website
  • Ensure copy is sub-edited to high standards and work with graphic designer on layouts
  • Ensure schedules, costs and quality standards are maintained
  • Liaise with colleagues in marketing to promote products

Experience / skills required:

  • Solid editorial experience within business/professional/legal/financial publishing is required
  • Experience working with online content is essential and the ability to use CMS and email marketing software
  • Excellent command of English and strong communication skills with proven editing and writing skills
  • Good organisational skills with the ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Great relationship building skills
  • Good working knowledge of InDesign and MS Office
  • Experience working for a membership body and an understanding of governance, compliance and risk roles would be a bonus
