UKi Media & Events, Editor - Automotive
Hugely successful international magazine publisher and exhibition organiser UKi Media & Events, based in Dorking, Surrey, has a rare opportunity for a talented and enthusiastic editor to join its automotive media division.
The successful candidate will be a key member of a growing team, editing two of its leading automotive and motorsport tech titles: Engine Technology International and Professional Motorsport World.
The role involves producing brilliant print titles that have excellent content, both written and visual, ensuring ‘flickability’ with every page. It also includes growing and enhancing the digital presence for both magazine brands. As such, we’re looking for someone who’s already experienced in editing magazines, or a deputy editor who’s ready for the next step up.
The successful candidate will have experience in getting high-quality magazines to press on time and budget, starting from the early content-planning stages right through to signing off final pages. Vital to this role is experience in commissioning content, flatplanning, writing relevant features and news stories, preparing copy/pages for subbing/proofing, and working with a design team to ensure stylish, cutting-edge layouts.
Candidates must also be proficient in the use of InDesign, and be well organised and able to meet strict deadlines. A good knowledge of and passion for the automotive industry and motorsport technology world will be a key advantage. A full UK driving licence is a must for this role. In addition, there will be international travel and a requirement to attend industry events, including global media car launches.
UKi Media & Events, which employs more than 150 staff and produces more than 100 publications a year, has grown and been more successful every year since it was established 25 years ago, and there remains plenty of opportunity to progress as we continue to launch new and pioneering publications and exhibitions.
